Scarab Energy

This gorgeous metallic green fig-eater beetle (cotinis mutabilis), a scarab, has made his summer debut here. I rescued one yesterday at my office who grasped my finger for quite some time. He flew off and followed me to my clinic door insisting on getting in. Sorry, pal, you're needed outside. Then today we went to a water harvesting workshop where, lo and behold, another one of these flying greenies selected me out of the group and landed on my hair. I nearly wept with joy as I held my head proudly! 

According to Egyptian lore "the scarab is a messenger of eternity and a guide of the cosmos to teach us about the elements of the creative forces." Here's to the creative forces of nature and the emerald scarab as my water harvester ally!
